oil pressure Sign In

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800, the oil pressure gauge goes right to 120 psi as soon as car is started, could this be sending unit? the engine is still quiet and no service engine soon light on.

Could be the sending unit. It may have failed and is grounded to the block. Although cluster failure is common here also.

It's possible. The only way you're going to find out is to either manually test the pressure or replace the sender. Replacing the send would probably be the cheaper way to go.
