'93 Chevy Silverado,4x4 PU, 5.7, 157,000 miles. When engine warms good say 10 or 12 miles I begin to loose oil pressure from around 30lbs to 0 at idle. Stays atound 15 0r so while RPM's are up. Bad sending unit? or real problem, I live in northern Nebraska so I am running 10w-30 oil and not useing any oil to speak of.

I would change the sender just to eliminate the possibility of that being the problem but symptoms like that are usually caused by the oil itself. With that year vehicle you can run a 10W40 oil. I would also change brands as some oil just breaks down with temp more easily. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
