hi, im in the forces and based in germany, and have recently done a head gasket on a friends car. the car is a: peugeot 306 GTI6 2000 reg 2.0 petrol After we had finished doing the gasket everything back together. Started the car, started fine (very happy we managed to get the timing correct) but then noticed that oil/coolant was spilling out of the air intake, we traced it back to what looks like the crankcase breather which connects to the rocker cover, we also found that oil and coolant was sat in the breather pipe and if we pump the coolant pipes it affects the level of the oil in the breather pipe. Anyone have any idea where we might have gone wrong? Thanks in advance

Don't know much about the exact car as it's not sold here but doesn't matter. Coolant in crankcase unless spilled there during reassembly just isn't right. Pressurizing/testing cooling system should have nothing to do with oil areas. Possible problems: Gasket job failed by putting one on backwards maybe, or head or other parts were not tested for flaws by a machine shop which a head gasket job should always have done or..........could a coolant and hose to crankcase possibly be mixed up? Check oil now and coolant for oil vs verse and drain it all out if mixed at all and may need to do this over again, T
