1996 jeep cherokee 4.0l inline 6 cyl.
here is my problem. i swapped motors.everything on the new motor came from the original motor.when it cme to start it it would not start.i have spark, fuel and compression. when turning over it shows rpm on the scanner.there are no fault codes.the dist. was installed #1 at tdc compression stroke. and rotor at #1 the computer does the timing.the only thing i noticed was the new block had a adj. dist clamp on it and the dist is a fixed slot.

Have you checked to see if you have the distributor 180 out?

mrp; Which flywheel (or flex-plate) did you use? You should have used the original one from your original engine. The crank sensor/reluctor must match.
