1993 ford explorer 4 wheel drive 4.0 6 cyl do not know the actual mileage motor was put in by someone else. I was driving the vehicle, it started to backfire and then stalled. Would not start back up. I was told to replace the electronic coil . where the spark plug wires go to. This did not solve the problem, still will not fire, no spark to the spark plugs

If you are sure there is no spark, check the crank sensor or the wiring to it. If PCM does not see the engine is turning over, it will not allow a spark to be produced. Or also check all fuses. I think there is a 20 amp fuse under the hood that may keep it from starting. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
