Some water at certain temps is normal but temporary and hot pipes will vaporize any normal water made by just burning fuel. Water pump really can't do this. A head gasket can - bummer! Check the coolant at the radiator at once! If not full there's a problem and if you can reach any coolant check if it's just water or has anti-freeze in it. You said you just got the car and someone may have dumped it because of a fairly expensive repair. Any recourse from seller? I can't think of a source of water in abundance in exhaust system that isn't a head gasket problem or the car was under water high enough to put lots in exhaust but that would end fairly quickly. If a possible flood car and is running there will be other problems that will come along as well - bummer again! T
