I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer 6 cylinder automatic with approx. 130000 miles. We had the car serviced in January for new plugs and plug wires, radiator flushed and refilled, transmission fluid and filter changed and the thermostat changed due to it starting to stick. Since the service it has been making a loud noise when it starts up. It sounds like a bus or a tractor trailor when they take off. It is a loud raoring sound that lastss until the car makes it's first gear shift. It use to only do this the first time you would start it up, now it is starting to get worse and will do it when you sit for a while like in the car rider line at my daughters school. We took it back to the shop where we had the service done and they can not find anything wrong with it. They hooked it up to the computer for error codes and it returned none. What could be causing this problem?

reyn; The only thing that comes to mind would be if the fan clutch is engaging when the engine is cold. Before you start it cold, see if the fan 'free wheels' by hand. It won't actually spin, but should move freely. My truck does this every once in a while, too. Sounds like a street sweeper when it does it. Loren SW Washington
