lost key Sign In

hi there everyone, it's a 2002 Sienna 3.0 we lost the engine key and it has a chip or computer, we are trying to get a used one from the scrap yard I mean the computer and the key but we are not sure if that is going to work need your help what is the solution for this. thank you.

Have you called the dealer to see if they can reseed the ECU on that one?

hello there thank you, they said the computer has to be replaced with it's key $1000,

Have you called a locksmith? I been reading that some locksmiths have the ability to reseed the ECU and cut you new masters. Some years and models you can reseed and others you have to replace the ECU.

I really don't know if pulling an ECU with its master key out of salvage yard will work. Even if you have the master from the junk yard, you are going to have to recode the lock cylinder and all the doors.


Try this (don't know if it will work):

Tell them you lost your keys. They should tell you to take it to a TOYOTA dealership. The dealership should order an ECU (TOYOTA PAYS), but you have to buy 3 keys and labor to reprogram them. The cost to you should be approx $300 and Toyota buys the ecu.
