You would likely have just a little quicker acceleration but also quicker deceleration. You probably would even be able to notice any power difference. The motor is just carrying a little less weight when it's picking up RPMs but by the same token, that weight is what helps it maintain the RPM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You will defiantly see the rpm increase much quicker; whether that will equal more power all depends on what other modifications you plan on doing. For example; the toilet bowl racer I use to work on; only really started to make good horsepower around three grand. We went with a lightweight flywheel to get there faster and it was brute horsepower that kept the rpm there. Pull your foot out of the throttle and the rpm dropped like a stone. It takes more power to get a heavy flywheel spinning; but the inertia that builds up in a heavy flywheel helps keep it turning. So look at the power band of your vehicle and see if you need higher rpm faster to get into the sweet spot. It’s the whole package that makes more power not just one item. Dan
