I'd be checking fuel pressure, exhaust restrictions and valve timing for a complaint of the sort,

Tom Greenleaf, I haven't had a change to look at the problem yet.
But when I do, would there be anything else I should look out for.?
I'll will check the fuel pressure, exhaust restrictions and valve timing.

How did you get to these conclusion so fast?Shocked

I would have NEVER thought of those. Wink

Thanks Tom

You can just call me "T" or Tom - thanks for the formality just the same.

Reason: The complaint to test these things if you have some tools is to at least rule out certain things first. That's really all for the suggestion so far. With results posted I/we can take it from there.

Not conclusions so fast. Testing things directs you to probably one problem area,

Guessing: If higher grade of fuel makes a difference then perhaps professional fuel injector cleaning is in order. Just additives in with fuel can help but with a problem it may take a machine that does it better. BTW - additives to help IMO are better at prevention than the fix,

T
I just had the car fuel injector professionally 20/9/09.
Yes, a higher grade of petrol help alot.

Which is why it's been shi@ting me.
I DID think fuel pressure, exhaust restrictions and valve may have been the issue.
Now I'm loss for words.

Injector cleaning might not have worked as well as it should have?? I'm confused as to why it selects a certain PRM to misbehave.

Techron Is a favorite of mine and use it all the time myself.

Again - the grade (octane) rating of fuel making a big difference has me confused,

Oh well.
Could not tell you why the car the higher octane makes a difference.
This TECHRON is it sold is Australian?
I have never heard if it.

Thanks T

Your working on the assumption here that the fuel injectors are definitely causing your problem. I would say that's highly unlikely. There are so many other things that could be causing this including the transmission. It would really take a high quality scan tool to observe the sensor data while driving to get an idea just what is happening to it.
