Hi I have a 1999 pontiac bonneville 3.8 liter v6 . The crankshaft position sensor was causing it to randomly stall out so I took it to shop and had it replaced because I didn't have time to do it myself I'm an electricain at a coal mine and work a lot of hour's. Got it back and problem was solved about a month later I went to get into the car and go and it ran like cap miss firing and the hole nine. It was low on gas so I thought some moisture got in the tank so I filled tank and ran some heat threw it still no change. So I change plugs and wires in the process I noticed that on my top coil the number 6 tower was black so I replaced coil also. Still ran the same checked spark with spark tool it was fine. I then changed ecm still ran the same. I then put it on a tester and it gave me the po336 code so I changed the crankshaft sensor again my self thinking he might have messed the up the baffle or the ring was loose any way to make a long story short that did not help also changed fuel pump filter strainer camshaft sensor fuel pressure regulator new air filter tried a different amf sensor did not help car on ocaition will fire up and run like a new especially after batt disconnect I guess because computer resets. I even tried unhook in alternator to see if diode was bad did the same with o2 sensor. Tested the Cadillac converter and it's not clogged. Tested fuel pump took line off at the filter an turned key works great. Took all my wires loose from loom and tested cont it was good now I'm about to junk this son of a gun. It has not drove 30 miles in a year and a half. I'm talking the fuel line off of the motor to see if it's not clogged now. And by the way I've taken this car to three shops and they charge but say they have no idea how to fix it. If any of ya'll would care to lend some of your experience I would greatly appreciate it thank you for your time.

Wow. Dont know what to make of all this.. Test fuel pressure, not just unhooking fuel lines. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. You have tested for spark at each wire? Test for injector pulse with noid light. If nothing shows, do a compression test. Oh and how do you know the Cadillac converter :) isnt plugged? (Its a catalytic converter BTW)

Might be a good idea to check the state of the battery now so it doesnt influence any testing. Test and charge.
