Who is right ???? I even owned the first one released in a 1969 Lincoln! Could pass anything but a gas station! What I found looked like this suggesting the pan was the gasket. I did do on site work (retired now) on RVs, Marine where nobody would go to location. What a pain either can be depending on how much room they allowed to get at stuff! The engine should be straight forward and good block as I've never had trouble with one.
