idle quality keeps changing? Sign In

UnsureI took my car to a local garage. They said that it is operating normally. Yeah, right! I went across the street to the local Citgo, and filled it up with mid-grade. Guess what? The funky idle is still there, but the kick-down and acceleration are back. But I still can't get any gas mileage over 60 mph. The shop said that there are no codes, and everything checks out. You had mentioned a possible cam timing problem? I just had a timing belt change in February. What should I tell another mechanic about this problem, without getting another brushoff. And I'm running out of money. Any suggestions, please? Thank you.

Did the problem show up after the timing belt was replaced?
