how hard can it be?

my 96 ford ranger 2.3 4 cyl. is reving high when i pull it out of gear. I was told that it needs an idle control solenoid or valve. I'm not sure where it is. Does anyone know where that part is? If you had a picture of it in place or a diagram that would be awesome let me know thanks!
