fuel pressure relief Sign In

I have a 1998 silverado 4x4 with a 5.7 litre engine. I need to change my fuel filter. How do I relieve the pressure?
Thanks
Mike

I just usually take the line off very slowly and watch your eyes but you can relieve it with the schraeder valve at the back of the engine.

I changed my fuel filter. The fuel pump keeps running for about 5-10 seconds after shutting off engine. The pump whines some. Does that mean my pump is going out?The truck runs great.

Thanks
Mike

The whining is an indication of a developing problem but my own did that for 3 years before failing.
