freelander can not start

freelander can not start Sign In

Landrover freelander 1999 - issue is : this vehicle had a water dripping near the timing best . after fitting the water leaking re fitted the timing belt and adjusted the tension .Not the ignition on but can not start thr engine .

please help me

What do you mean you cannot start the engine? Does the engine crank or does the starter spin the crankshaft?

Did the timing belt come right off somehow? If so it would have to be replaced on exact location for valve timing. It shouldn't just fall off so easily so if it was stretched or couldn't hold tension that is a problem.

Not sure which engine this has or if an "interference" engine where valves will collide with pistons when valve timing is wrong for whatever reason so if that type (many are) this will be a major fix.

Quick search shows one available engine uses three timing belts - one up front and two at rear if that one would be quite involved to set it all right.

Is this, this type with a V6 engine?
