The car is in great shape and we would like to keep for our 16 year old daughter. What would be the cause of the smoke in the morning and is this a major cost to fix. It could be valve guides leaking into cylinders or poor return of oil back to oil pan from valve cover. Not common on these. If it's limited and not a skeeter fogger it may help to change oil up a viscosity like if 5w-30 is suggested go to 10 or 15w 30 or so may slow it down. This doesn't usually kill an engine if you keep up with oil changing but may cause frequent spark plug changes and may foul the converter.
