2003 Chevrolet Cavalier 89000

Won't start

Driving down the road shut off, turns over but won't run. Replaced in tank fuel pump two years ago when same problem. took the intake pipe off sprayed starting fluid in the intake car will run. There is a valve on the fuel line, inside engine compartment that resembles a tire valve, when the core is pushed in gas comes out. Don't know if it is enough... any suggestions please

That valve is your fuel pressure test port.
If you spray starter fluid in the intake that shows it has a fuel problem.
First test the fuel pressure and we can go from there.

Thank you sir I can take care of that tomorrow... I had been told that the Cavalier pressure is between 50-60 psi, if you don't mind is that correct... Again Thank You

Yup, that is correct.
If you have 0 psi fuel pressure make sure you test the fuel pump relay and check all your fueses first.

Sir thank you for your advise... There is, in fact, zero pressure at the test fitting, with the key turned in the on position or while turning the engine over... However when I have turn the key to power position the is a buzzing (electrical humming) sound from rear of the vehicle, around the fuel tank area... it last for a few seconds then stops, turn the key to the off position, some type of ticking noise under the hood for two or three seconds, turn the key back to on position again, buzzing again for a few seconds then stops. The sound I am trying to describe is near the same as when I used to deal with older cars back in the 60's/70's, installed alot of electric fuel pumps on vehicles, the buzzing/humming resembles the same sound. Possibility a fuel filter problem. Thank You for your time.

I almost promise you the fuel pump is bad.

Does it have injector pulse? What is the fuel pressure?

You might have better luck if you start your own thread.
