engine willnot accerate

1995 buick riviera will not accelerate when the pedal is pushed. it idles fine and does not miss on any cylinders. the problem occurred once before and corrected itself without any adjustments. it is a supercharged v6 engine with 160,000 miles on it. just running down the road when the throttle quit responding. engine did not die.

Is your check engine light coming on at all?

yes it is but lights are coming on and going off like a christmas tree but the check engine light stays on where the others go off. thanks for your reply

Those lights weren't put there for Christmas decorations. You need to have the codes read and start resolving the issues.
