1986 ford f-250/4 wheel drive/302/automatic engine is very sluggish, pops every once in a while/ acts like doesn,t reach full rpm.good compression. leak down ok/ seems like it isn,t getting enough air. stops and starts. also shudders while running. leaning towards fowled plugs or weak spark. also good fuel pressure from tank pump and high pressure pump, could it be egr valve.

The ignition would be the first thing I looked at. What brand plugs are you using?
