engine miss 98 grnd prix

I have a 98 grandprix 2 dr.. recent;ly is been missing out here or there just enuff too annoy me I dont think its the tranny or the tach would spike up its just a slight miss.when I punch into it it has plenty of power and when its idleing it runs smooth..Anoying..lol its not backfiring either when it does miss out sometimes it does it right after I sit at a stop sign or light and when i take off it does it slightly

Which engine? What is the mileage? Has it had a tune up recently (includes plugs, wires, air and fuel filters). Check engine light on? If so, what trouble code(s) are being stored?
