I have a 93 Chevy. Lumina 3.1L v-6, sometimes car runs great and then out of the blue it will have a miss and a definite loss of power. Can anyone help me figure out what could be causing this problem. It doesn't miss all the time. It's an on and off occurrance. I changed plugs and wires in hopes that that was the problem, but it's not.

This trick on that one is to find out which cylinder is misfiring. You may need to do a power balance test to determine which cylinder it is when the misfire is occurring. Once you figure out which cylinder, you need to figure out why. Of course, the worst engine to do a power balance test on without a scan tool is your engine because of the location of the coil pack and the inability to access the injector connectors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAOmUjAjNjE Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Just wanted to thankyou for your input and wanted to let you know that you hit the diagnosis right on the money. The problem was the coil pak failing to produce enough spark and was dropping in power. You are the best. Thanx Ivanho
