I have an 89 R/V with ford 460 fuel injected engine. Drove home on freeway, after buying, and after about 40 miles; it started losing power and slowing down; finally coming to halt off road. Waited 15 min., and restarted, and continued on; but it didit twice more on way home. Now, it will start; but idle only; upon acceleration; it wants to die. I have currently had the following done: new belts; plugs; wires; rotor; cap; oil; radiater flushed; new fluid; and...new intank fuel pump; new front fuel pump; new gas filters; battery; trans. fluid and filter changed; rear diff. fluid changed. The engine will start easy; and idle; but if any acceleration is attempted; it acts fuel (or spark) starved. Have been told the coil is ok? driving me and my mech nuts. The vehicle did set for one year at rv park. but, I cleaned out the fuel tank and blew out lines, when I replaced the intank fuel pump

Is it backfiring at all? You need to take a fuel pressure reading. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
