well you cannot adjust the ignition timing on this engine SO I guess you are trying to install distributor, and set cam sync. A scanner will aid this install - setting cam offset or sync. No problem before your work SO you might want to remove dist and see if that is cause of engine turning problem... then google "gm 4.3 distributor installation" there should be a youtube to help ypu understand and install dist.

This is a '95 Kev. The timing is supposed to be adjustable on this engine. They are showing 2 different versions though and one is not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

you rotated engine last week now you cannot - SO whats different ? some ideas- I suggested you undo any installations - the distributor , all belts are off , maybe Spray a little oil into plug holes .. tap starter maybe drive is sticking, how long was it not run?

? Just the not turning part? Have you left plug out and exposed to weather all this time? Seems quick but might have "gun" rusted cylinder already and should free up but I don't do that so not sure how long is too long, T

How are you trying to turn the engine "by hand?" Breaker bar on crank bolt or what? Will it turn if you go either direction or neither just plain locked? IDK for sure. Did you even possibly drop something inside like a tool that could lock engine? T

yeh i am using a breaker bar and no i didnt drop any thing down in it but i am thinking some gunk might have fell in but i am not sure and no it wont turn either way and when we crank it with the starter it would turn a little and go back to were it was then it would turn on over its like its bound up in a spot i am thinking i am gonna have to pull the motor and take the heads off to see whats going on but i am trying to avoid that

Why can the starter spin the crank, but you can't? That doesn't make any sense unless you haven't eaten your wheaties. I'd be careful trying to spin the crank using the bolt. It's only a 7/16 diameter bolt. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
