I thought it was FORD who had a better idea...!! it's been slipping and bangs into reverse....I added 3 qts so far...but still cant tell...I cant see level in hole...but was told not to over fill...can damage....it has 94k miles... zmame Veteran / Moderator Jul 28, 2011, 2:55 PM Post #2 of 4 (1349 views) Re: determine trans fluid level - 04 cavalier Sign In Run for about 1/2 hr on level ground crawl under the car there will be a plug on the tranny on bell housing side.. pull the plug (while running and wheels blocked).. if nothing comes out keep adding fluid till it starts to come out the hole. Put plug back in cycle from drive to reverse a few times and re-check.
