cylinder 4 misfire

I'm having a cylinder 4 misfire, I took my vehicle to a repair shop to figure out the cause of the problem. 2 hours later I was told the cylinder didn't have any compression and they also called the dealer I bought my car from. I have an extended warranty on my engine and the dealer said that they would take a look at the engine and if it didn't seem like I caused the problem, chrysler or the dealer would cover it. The next day I take my car to the dealer and a couple hours later get a call and they said the cause of the problem was "mice got up at the wires and started to chew them and eventually they started to corrode! The bad news is it's not covered by any warranty and it's also going to cost $340" I told them that was fine and then later that night they told me the wires only got 50% compression and that they were going to have to take the head of the cylinder off and do some work on it but first they had to send pictures to chrysler to see if it would be covered. Am I just being jerked around? I also just bought this car a year ago from this dealer used. It only had about 30,000 miles on it. 2010 Dodge Avenger 6.0 55,478

The wires have absolutely nothing to do with compression so it sounds like they just wanted to grab some money from you before they condemned the engine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
