corsa b 1.0 bouncing down the road Sign In

hi all i was wondering if i could get some help i have just bought a corsa b 1.0 12v and it ran fine for about a day then when warmed up it started to bounce along as if the car loses all power then it kicks back in for a second (it is better when at really high revs) i had someone put it on a diagnostic machine for me and it came up that the egr valve was faulty so i changed the egr valve (with a second hand one) and bought new spark plugs which made my engine managemet light go out but the problem still persists so i had it put back on a machine and a code came up saying something like rpm counter incorrect to which the mechanic replied was due to the car not having a rev counter (doesnt sound right to me) and to just take it for a bit of a run to try to clear the problem which i did to no avail does anyone have any idea what could be causing this as i am at my wits end any help would be greatly appriciated

There is no code that says the EGR valve or any other valve is "faulty"

The codes give specific information about the circuit and it's up to the technician to further test and determine what actually caused the issue. The EGR valve is only one component in problem circuit.

something like rpm counter incorrect

Not much to go on here, but if that has something to do with the crankshaft position sensor you better check that out. No signal or corrupted signal from the crank sensor can cause stalling and no starts.

EGR valve can cause stalling, but only at or around engine idle speeds. Very easy way to see if the EGR system is causing stalling is to unplug the valve and see if your stalling goes away. That's if the valve isn't sticking open from a seized pintle.

Since you already replaced the EGR valve, I think we can eliminate that now.
