condensation/rust/water/ice on oil dip stick. Ford 4.9L Sign In

Hello, I just joined here to maybe get a second opinion on this issue I've been having. I have a 94 Ford Econoline with a 4.9 inline 6. 233,000 milesBlush. There is usually always rust that forms on the dip stick, basically every day. The fill tube has a small amount of white foam/condensation in it that freezes to ice in the winter. There is usually a very small amount of white on the very tip of the dip stick. The pcv valve tube usually has small amounts of white foam. The pcv breather turns black with oil after a week or two. The oil also starts to smell like tarnish. Or fuel. I can leave the fill cap off or dip stick out and watch a little bit of steam come out. The valve cover just started leaking, not sure if its related to any built up pressure. The anti freeze has been fine for years. Havn't lost any and it hasn't changed colors.

This indicates to me that there is a pcv malfunction. I have changed pcv valves and cleaned the tubing out pretty well and nothing.

I'm thinking this means that my engine is worn and allowing way to much blow by? Is there any way to nurse it along or do I just ride it til it dies. I've had this van for 9 years. It's been everywhere with me. I've done increadible maintenance to it and it hasn't wronged me once. Can't imagine it failing. It's a helluva engine. I thought it was gonna live forever. Any opinions or advice on my situation? Thanks

Basically what you have is just a tired engine that has excessive blowby which is collecting in the PCV tube and the white foam is just normal condensation. I'm afraid your not going to do anything about that problem short of replacing the engine.

So just run it til it dies then, huh?

Pretty much, yeah. You've already got your money's worth out of it and it's on borrowed time now.

Sounds about right. I wanted a second opinion and you've been great. Watch tho, I bet the thing will run another 3 years like that. Or sounds like its time to put a V8 in. Or just drop the body on a truck chassis. She will live on. haha thanks again for your response.
