Your going to need to test the electrical portion of the starting system by taking some voltage measurements. Your going to need a volt meter. If you can get your hands on a digital volt meter, that would be a good tool to use to see if you can find the source of your issue. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

One thing that you can do is try to isolate where the problem is by separating the starting system into two parts. What I mean is that there is an electronic starter relay in the fuse box under the hood that is used to control the high current side of the starting system. The high current side is from the relay to the starter solenoid to the starter motor itself. The low current side is the control side that comes from the ignition switch(PCM) to the starter relay. You can do what is called a bypass test. To do a bypass test remove the starter relay from the relay cavity in the fuse panel. Take jumper wire and connect terminal 87 to 30 in the relay cavity. There are numbers on the bottom of the relay that correspond to the terminals in the relay cavity. When you install the jumper this will send battery voltage to the starter solenoid and should make the starter motor crank the engine. Make sure the ignition is turned off and the transmission is in park when you do this. The results of this test will help you isolate which side of the starting system you need to make your checks. Your owners manual should give you the location of the starter relay in the fuse panel. Example of relay bypassing: Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Just be careful and don't jumper the wrong terminals. That would be a bad thing. It wouldn't be a bad idea to install a fuse (around 15 amp) in your jumper, just in case. connect terminal 87 to 30 in the relay cavity Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Check your battery connections. Also the ground wire. A loose or corroded cable will cause all kinds of trouble.

Glad to read they figured it out. That relay bypass test is a good way to find out which direction in the starting circuit to focus on. They may have used the same test or just checked for power at the starter bat and S terminal. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

With the engine running wiggle the connections on the alternator while someone watches for the charging light. Could be a bad connection, wiring problem, or the alternator itself. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
