drove for a block and a half. power died thought it was gas so put 2 gallons in still didnt start what else could it be.

Can you narrow that down a bit? No battery power, no fuel delivery, no spark, not cranking at all? T

Could it be time gear broken or sensor that's along the transmission don't remember what its called. That happened to me once and it turned out to be the timing gear in my chevy S-10 and a sensor in my chevy cavalier.
