bad coil in 2003 mitz lancer

Hi there. I recently change my spark plugs in my 2003 mitz lancer, 4 door, 2.0 engine due to 'chugging', loss of acceleration. The car drove well for about half an hour then the same problem was back. The computer said one of the cylinder? was shot. I was told to get a new coil, but that it may not be the coil, but some some bad wiring. I found a used coil on a mitx 2002 lancer. Sould I try that out ? Are the 2002 and 2003 parts compatible?

What codes were present? I need the numbers, not generic definitions from the parts store. Did you replace your 9 year old wires with the plugs? If you like misfires go ahead and get used parts. If you like a reliable car get new ones. Worth it in the long run.
