I have 1994 Chevy Astro with the 4.3 in it. To make a long story short. It will not start unless I spray gas down the intake then it starts right up and runs/drives fine shut it off and the samething allover again. Any advise would be helpfull. ThanksUnsure

Ok - here's some guessing to try to at least get a direction to head:

Obviously the spark it there and on time when it doesn't start. The fuel isn't as when you prime it, it works. What seems to happen is the fuel pump is not pumping when in the cranking mode but does in the run mode of your ignition. Certain electrical things are disempowered. It's not the fix but if you leave the key in the run position till you hear the fuel pump shut down as it has reached its set pressure it will probably start without the priming.

Lots of items are disempowered just for the "start" mode. Don't wreck your starter over this but note that things like PW, P seats, RWD, blowere/fans, radio, and more will not work while starting but return to working when you let go to just "run" position. That selection can only be made by the ignition switch - I think?? It might be at the solonoid at starter. I'm not sure. Does everything quit like headlights (shouldn't) when cranking? that could lead to the fix. Best I can do for suggestions is to check with a test light that fuel pump is getting power when cranking and the other things,

T
