We can't tell you why without inspecting and testing the circuit but you need to start out by testing all the fuses with a test light and look for any wiring that could have been left unplugged.

Never mind tune up stuff - you may have a too large clutches gap - not there so can't tell. .020 is a relative standard,

Dear Mr "T"

Don't reply to these requests if you expect those of not in the know to be full of your vast intimate knowledge...you just set yourself up to look like an inpatient know it all with an ego to match...sorry to have taken up your precious time...

Tom gets ahead of us sometimes . Yes there is a "clutch" on your a/c compressor .It's the metal plate in front of your compressor. When the coil inslde the pulley gets 12v it becomes an electro magnet and draws the plate and pulley together .and then the compressor starts doing it's thing. Hammer Time was giving you the correct procedure . To see if you are getting power to the a/c clutch , and anytime you have an electrical problem you start at the fuses . Then check the wiring harness to the compressor for damaged wiring or unplugged connectors.
