I also have a 1985 300zx non-turbo that is having a similar issue.
It suddenly won't run properly. When you start it up first it won't idle without help, it seems to rev ok after 1500 rpm. Once it warms up it will idle but won't rev up to any usable rpm. When trying to rev it up it sputters and boggs down. Once you let off the throttle it seems to idle ok again. After it started doing this replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator(because it was sucking gat in the vacuum side of things. The fuel pump seems to fire up ok and I cannot find any vacuum leaks. The cap and rotor were replaced also and this has had no effect in fixing the issue. Tried disconnecting the MAF sensor but it doesn't seem to make a difference, disconnected the O2 and actually pullled it out incase the CAT was plugged and didn't see a difference. Not sure where to go from here, any help would be appreciated.
