I used Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner, now my Volvo smell like gas.

Make of vehicle: Volvo
Model of vehicle 760 GLE
Engine size: 2.8L
Mileage: 194,000
I recently added the Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner to a full tank of gas. Upon reading the instructions however, I realized I should have added the cleaner to an empty tank and then refueled. A half tank (and a day later) my Volvo is starting to smell like raw gas . I checked and there are leaks. Is the smell of gas normal after using an fuel system cleaner?

You did nothing wrong or harmful. If your smelling fuel, there is some other issue that needs to be found.

Nothing to do with the fuel mixture? Prior to the additive there was no smell.

You could get a different odor out of the exhaust, although i have never noticed one from Techron. If you smell raw fuel, that is a leak somewhere.

This is one of very few additives I do use and never had it cause a problem. Anything of the sort is best in moderation. As HT said if you are smelling raw fuel there's a leak to be found and if that product caused it I'd sooner say it was a lurking problem to begin with,
