Won't stay running

I have a 1989 Ford Probe Lx,2.2L with 128,ooo miles. The car will not stay running untill warmed up(At least ten min). Once in gear it stalls out. Once I get it going it starts to jerk front to back. On highway it runs fine. Any help would be great!

check all vacum lines make shure none has come off make shure all plugs to cencers are plugged in is check engine light on iff so have the codes pulled that would make a starting point also you might try to put new plugs and plug wires on it to make shure you dont have a misfiring plug or an arking plug wire it seems like to me that is a misfiring problem
