She thought she had bought some bad gas. She used some fuel additives and the engine seemed to run better or at least she quit talking about it. A few days back she busted the upper radiator hose. The car overheated a bit but I had her shut it down and put a new hose on it once it cooled down. On Thursday night I listened to it run and told her not to drive it until we could get it checked out. She drove it to work any way on Friday and on Sunday my son called saying that it had overheated on him. I had not intended for any one to drive the vehicle but was out of town and didn't realize they were driving it. My son had it towed home. Anyway that gets me to today. I filled the radiator with anti-freeze and water. I attempted to crank the vehicle with the radiator cap off and anti-freeze spewed from the radiator. I had always thought that you could run a cool engine with the radiator cap off and add fluid as needed. I added more water to the radiator put on the cap and cranked the engine. It sputters and puts out a white smoke. Any clues here as to what is wrong? I am thinking that getting it towed to someone who knows what they are doing would be the best solution. The extra driving has done serious engine damage now. You have at least a blown head gasket and possibly cracked head.
