Valve lifter noise

I drive a chevy aveo. I took my car in for a routine oilcgange a month and a half ago. They diagnosed at the time that my valve cover gasket was bad. I did not have money at the time to replace the gasket. I had the gasket replaced a few weeks ago but am now left with what I assume is a valve lifter noise. I know their are quite a few additives that I can add to my oil that are said to help some. My question is do the additives actually help any? And what would be the best additive to use?

Lets start with the year of your car and the mileage. Have you checked the oil level? Was there any hint of this before this repair? Do you know if your engine has any sludge buildup on the inside? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
