Toyota Corolla Wont Start Sign In

2001 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

Timing marks set will not start ? 2001 Heads on 98 block lined timing marks up engine cranks but will not start can someone please help

Check compression to be sure that everything is correct. If the cam and crank gears are not correct the valves will be opening at the wrong time and the compression will be all goofed up. Also what was the reason for the head change?

the original block was locked up. I found a 98 motor and used original heads.

Gotcha. Well you are either lacking fuel, spark, or compression. Since you were running prior to the lock up then I would go after the compression first. Checking the compression would be easier than pulling the timing cover and all the related junk of to check it. Also another thought. Dosn't this have the distributor that goes in sideways? Is it in correct or 180 off?
