My timing chain gasket is leaking, not much but enough to smell and just enough to drain my reservoir in 2 months. My question short of taking it apart, will cooling seal tabs seal the leak? I have a 96 Windstar.

If you are pretty sure this is just a gasket and that slow such that the system still can hold pressure then a sealer will work. I like one by Mac's sold under Napa's name "Radiator Sealer and Block Repair" but just use 1/4 or less of that bottle. They all want to sell product but they will plug up a heater core if you use too much. If a little doesn't work it really should be fixed properly.

Most of these products are really just sawdust or like pepper and can work. The one mentioned seems to be more permanant,
