Hi I have a 1985 subaru GL standard sedan 1.8L H4 engine, oh and it has about 74,000 miles on it..I will start it up with my foot all the way down on the gas pedal and it starts but immediately stalls right after, its not drivable because of this issue. so one day i looked under the hood and when i took the air cleaner off i looked at the carburetor and it was filled with gas! is this normal, i didnt think so...so i am wondering if anyone could tell me what might be wrong with my car and how i might go about to fixing it. Thanks!

'85 and carbureted? If the carb is full of fuel, I'd guess that the float has sunk or a piece of debris is holding the float down. Not safe to try and run it this way. Loren SW Washington
