Starting up an engine fails

Hi, recently bought boat with 270 hp engine wouldn't start. So I removed one of 8 spark plugs from it and tried to turn the engine on and it worked. But as soon as I put that spark plug back the engine wouldn't want to start again. Independently of which spark plug I remove. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like you need more battery or a new starter.
