1989 chevy 1500 5.7 350 100,000 miles 1989 chevy 1500 5.7 will not start without starting fluid but will run after. if you shut motor off and try to start again it fires right up with no starting fluid. Thought it could be fuel pressure but not sure?

A maybe is the injection is always on warmed up mode vs getting info and adding more fuel like a choke would do in carbed engines. The sensor and its connection are suspect. Near thermostat should be a two wire sensor - One should be yellow. Check the connection there as at the age that alone would be a problem or the sensor itself which should pretty much come out like a spark plug but is in engine coolant. Anything to do with that wiring to make injectors use more fuel when cold or about it it a likely source of the problem OR perhaps it just isn't getting good fuel pressure OR not holding it well when cold?
