Starter on 2000 F150 wont disengage

Starter on 2000 F150 wont disengage Sign In

I have replaced the battery...was bad ....replaced the solenoid on the firewall and have now put a new starter in and it still stays engaged.... help.... also i do have an after market remote start on the beast... anyone know whts up???

The remote could be acting up. Guess it's more likely for a starter drive that won't retract that comes with a rebuilt starter. It would stop turning the ring gear itself and instead the ring gear is turning it. Be fast to figure it out as this can quickly lead to needing to replace that ring gear - and you don't want that headache,

we have replaced the starter 2 times the solenoid 2times and replaced the wire that conects the battery to the solenoid on the firewall and the one that connects from there to the one on the starter.... the remote start is shut off we are out of ideas.... HELP

Doesn't this use a solonoid on the inner fender? Disconnect the smaller wire that is supposed to make the connection to power the starter there. If it still starts the starter motor it's messed up in a way I can' t think of.

That smaller wire at solonoid should only have power when you are asking for it to start by key or remote in this case. Bet you find a fault with the remote. Perhaps the ignition switch is fried. Can't say from here and anything that alters the car/vehicle creates headaches so avoid all items that don't just plug in to a power port or cigarette lighter in any vehicle in the future,
