Saturn Vue '06 won't start? (Video) Sign In

I have been having some problems starting my '06 Saturn Vue (2WD, 2.2L). The engine starts but it dies right away. I replaced the battery and the spark plugs yesterday and used the car today all day long so I know those two replacements were done correctly. I had a little bit of a rough time getting it started today going to and from work (~8-9 mile ride) but it got going and drove fine. I just tried going out again but this time it won't start.
I had been having this problem for the last week or so but until now it had started after the 2nd or 3rd try.

My next idea is to change the ignition coil housing along with the control module. If that doesn't work my next guess would be the carburetor but i now nothing about carburetors (removing, cleaning, etc.).

Can you guys give me any kind of input? Should i go ahead and spend another ~$180 to change the coils and control module? The car has about 130K miles on it.

Here's a video of what's happening:

Any help would be IMMENSELY appreciated

It doesn't have a carb at all.

You need to find out what is missing and begin with finding out if it lacks spark or fuel delivery while cranking. New plugs and battery have nothing to do with that and fine that they worked for a day but not conclusive if that helped anything?

Get codes if you can and post the #s. Fuel pressure or at least hear the fuel pump or nothing and test for spark.

Tossing a coil and module is just wild guessing so far and that gets expensive and confuses the problem unless you just hit on which is a problem by dumb luck?

Do you have any security security lights on or flashing when this happens?

If not, I would be testing the fuel pressure.

Alright quick update:

I just went outside and tried holding down the accelerator while turning the key and it started fine. I let it sit on idle for a few minutes to make sure it wouldn't stall on its own and it didn't. Then I tried starting it for the second time but had no luck. Does this mean the ignition system (as far as coil and control module) is fine?

I live in a cold climate (last night it got to negative F). I haven't added any fuel treatment to my tank in a long while but I'll make sure to pick up a bottle before i spend more money on parts.

I bought the car with about 100K miles on it and i haven't replaced the fuel filter, I doubt the previous owner did. I also checked that the throttle body opens and closes fine. Now what's the fuel pump supposed to sound like or how do i check it?

Thanks a lot for your help!

No offense but I don't think this fix it your calling. Rather better to find a shop and tech you like and send this whole job out for repair as needed,

No worries, no offense taken.

I was afraid it'd come to this and was trying to see if there was some sort of fairly easy fix i could do at home...If the fuel treatment doesn't "magically" solve the problem I think I'll end up taking it to a shop...

Thanks a lot for your help anyway
