S10 hesitates when accelerating from stop Sign In
2000 S10
4 cyl.
Automatic
No codes Had a code about 6 months ago for a throttle position sensor but cleared and never returned.

When hitting the gas to pull away from a stop the truck hesitates badly and will not go above 20 mph or so.
If the peddle is pressed more there is no change.
If you pull over then the idle returns to normal in just a minute.
Other problems that may or may not be related.
Truck sometimes does not shift from 1st to 2nd when it should, and then shifts when the rpm's are higher than the normal shifting point.
Sometimes jerks into 1st when shifting from park.
Sometimes surges when idling, mostly when running the air conditioning.

Got a code for the throttle position sensor so went ahead and replaced it.
Of course I didn't have any symptoms before or after the drive for the part.
Intermittent problems are the worst.

Yea intermittens can be tough. If the problem returns get so basic info. Fuel pressure reading, vacuum reading--@ idle & high speed, get a spark tester & check coil output. Take care of any overdue maintance items........

Update to the problem. I replaced the throttle position sensor which is $30.00 and easy to replace.
Well it seems to have fixed all of the intermittent problems I had, truck running without a problem.
