Running rough Sign In

My 96 cirrus 2.5 has been trouble ever since I steamed the engine.
I have replaced the cap, rotor and plugs and changed the oil and filters.
Cleaned and replaced all throttle boby sensors and intake fittings.
It is shaking and it is hard to get to speed.
I have to floor it to get to 55mph and it feels like its going to stall at a stop light.
The car used to run great. I should have left the engine dirty.

You didn't meniton the plug wires and those long insulators could be very sensitive to temp changes with water cleaning and leak out of sight on you. A code reading might help if this is picking on one cylinder or try if you thing it's just ONE to isolate which and chase it down. Find it soon as the rough running isn't helping o2 sensors or converters a bit!

That is one idea, however it dosent explain the lose of throttle response.

Sure could! Loss of one in six may make whole engine behave like it only has 3 working. Computer engine controls are possibly/probably sensing all kinds of errors in unburned fuel and frantically making adjustments to cover it and can't.

It may or may not have a single "putt" felt (careful - hot) at tailpipe or a random misfire making it rough. A code reading may lead you to which one if only one??

Who knows for sure what pressure blasting water all over senstitive electronic parts and everything else will destroy. You can guess I never use steam cleaning or water based cleaners to "pretty " up an engine compartment and this is why! If the engine was warm or hot at time it's even worse!
