Replace crankshaft position sensor. Sign In

I have a 2011 Cadillac Eacalade ESV. It needsa new crankshaft position sensor. Could anyone tell me how to remove the second bolt from the sensor cover. Seems like a real pain, maybe I just don't have the right tools.

1. Remove the starter.
2. Working through the wheel well opening, disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

3. Clean the area around the CKP sensor before removal in order to avoid debris from entering the engine.
4. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
5. Remove the CKP sensor.

before you R&R sensor- want to make sure you are aware...
Why are you replacing CKP - they do not fail that often?
Do you have The CKP relearn procedure - need a scanner.
