Putting in a new engine NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!! Sign In

I am trying to put a motor into a 94 chevy silverado 1500. I have the 6 cylinder 4.3 liter engine. Z code. When looking for a motor I was told that I could take the motor out of the S-10 (same size and a z code motor also.) the only problem being it has an aluminum oil pan instead of a metal pan. The guy said that I should be able to swap the pans out. I wanted to know if the motor out of the S-10 will work in my truck and if I can change the pans. Thanks.

The salvage people really know what can work perfectly. Oil pan is probably just different to fit the different chassis but Matching engine code is a great sign but check and double check by the date of manu for each for any real pertenant changes. It really helps to have a match for this,
