2001 2door, 2wd, rwd Vitara, 2.0ltr 4cyl engine, 5spd manual Transmission. Symptoms: Decreased power and economy. Presence of a sulfur smell. After having run for around 30 minutes the car will stutter, cough and die. It will take 15 to 20 minutes before it will start and run again. This is also true if I stop and turn it off when its been driven awhile. The symptoms led me to believe it was the catalytic converters so I had them replaced. This did improve things a little, but has not corrected the problem. I replaced the spark plugs with a new set of NGK's, still more improvement but not a cure. I filled it with the highest grade of fuel down at the Exxon and added a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner and didn't notice any difference except a little bit better economy. I also prayed for it, cussed at it, begged it and finally kicked a tire. These netted zero difference except a sore toe.....help

Get code readings even if a light isn't on. You could smell it as converters) were over taxed trying to convert unburned fuel and if not fixed and just guessed at you'll be doing the same repairs twice for not fixing the original cause.
Forget "mechanic in a bottle stuff" especially Lucas. Use only OE specified plugs too.
Pay for a diagnostic and save a fortune in wasted parts - you can still do the work yourself,
